You’ll need at least one of the following certificates:

Training program

All of Flexi Support’s staff members are required to attend regular training sessions to provide the best care for our clients.

The skills you need to update regularly are:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support
  • Certificate IV Disability
  • or Community Service
  • Infection Control Training – Covid 19
  • Current First Aid Training – HLTAID011
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • First aid
  • Infection control
  • Manual handling
  • Working with people with dementia
  • Managing challenging behaviours
  • We also encourage you to take some advanced skill training for high care services, including operating hoist and other machines, transferring, bowel care, PEG feeding, etc.

NDIS Worker Orientation Module

NDIS has introduced an online training module called the Worker Orientation Module called “Quality, Safety and You” as part of the requirement for working with NDIS participants.

The training module can be found here. You can save, exit and return to the module at any time

This module has been developed to assist NDIS support workers to better support people with disability and covers topics such as; human rights, respect, risk, and the roles and responsibilities of NDIS workers.

It is highly recommended that all applicants provide a copy of their Certificate Of Completion of the training when applying.

NDIS Workers Screening Check

Prior to employment, all new workers are required to apply for a NDIS Workers Check. The NDIS Check is a way to ensure that people who work with NDIS participants do not present an unacceptable risk to participants.

You can apply for your NDIS Check online at Service Victoria.

To apply:

register or login to your Service Victoria account

verify your identity

submit your identification documents for your police check and any other background checks

enter your work details

review and provide consent for the checks

pay for your application

Your application will then be sent to the NDIS Worker Screening Unit in Victoria who will assess your application. The NDIS Worker Screening Unit will send you an email confirming that your application has been received and explaining what will happen next.

2. Apply Online

Fill out our online form below. Applicants must also undergo a NDIS Workers Screening Check as part of the application process. If your skills and experience match what we’re looking for, we’ll contact you by phone or email.

3. The Interview Process

We’ll invite shortlisted applicants for an interview – either in-person or over the phone. You’ll need to bring in a proof of ID, supply proof of work rights and an Australian Criminal History Check. We’ll also get in touch with your referees. All requested documents need to be provided prior to your onboarding session.

4. Get Started

Successful applicants will be notified by phone. Welcome to the team!  There’ll be lots to learn in your first weeks. We’ll help you through the on-boarding, and provide training and support to start you on the right foot.
